Alireza Mollahosseini was born in 1985. He studied tombak with Arjhang Kamkar, Bahman Rajabi and Bijan Kamkar and was taught about the Zar rituals and music by the Master Khalifeh Gholam Margiri. Furthermore he took international and Iranian singing classes and also plays Iranian and classical piano.
Since 2001 he is teaching tombak, daf and rhythm at several musical institutes in Bandar Abbas, Karaj and Tehran. He also did music workshops in cities around Austria like in Krems, in Vienna and in Linz.
His career as ensemble- and as solo-artist took him to places like Tehran, Bandar Abbas, Karaj, Rasht, Hamedan, Qeshm, Yasouj and Shiraz. He played with the Mehregan ensemble (leader: Gholamreza Mirzakhani), with the Vandad Mehr ensemble (leader: Afshin Khaladj) and with the Rumi ensemble (leader: Kayhan Kalhor). Through his cooperation with artist like Kayhan Kalhor and Alireza Ghorbani a.o. he had the chance to play concerts in Linz (Festival 4020, in 2013 and 2015), in Turkey (in 2014), in Ghent / Belgium (in 2013), and in Krems (Festival Glatt und Verkehrt, in 2014). He also worked with Aria Aziminejad on different TV series and films.
Alireza Mollahosseini cooperated with the Iranian projects for the festival 4020 (2015) and assisted with the research about Iranian Regional Music in the region of Hormozgan and Khorasan. He had a one month residency in Krems / Austria in October 2014, a three weeks residency in Linz / Austria in April / May 2015. He was the featured artist at festival 4020 in 2015.
